AutoCAD 2007 For Dummies

AutoCAD 2007 For Dummies

Writer:  David Byrnes and Mark Middlebrook

Appearances can be deceptive. For example, if you saw the apparently
random piles of stuff that covered the authors’ desks while they were writing
this book, you might wonder how they could possibly organize a paragraph,
let alone an entire book. But each of us (given some concerted thought)
knows exactly where to put our hands on that list of new dimension variables,
or that bag of 1⁄2" binder clips, or the rest of that bagel and cream
cheese we started at coffee break.
We hope you’ll find that the book also reflects some concerted thought about
how to present AutoCAD in a way that’s both easy-to-dip-into and smoothlyflowing-
from-beginning-to-end.
The organization of this book into parts — collections of related chapters —
is one of the most important, uh, parts of this book. You really can get to
know AutoCAD one piece at a time, and each part represents a group of
closely related topics. The order of parts also says something about priority;
yes, you have our permission to ignore the stuff in later parts until you’ve
mastered most of the stuff in the early ones. This kind of building-block
approach can be especially valuable in a program as powerful as AutoCAD.
The following sections describe the parts that the book breaks down into.

Anne Frank's diaries have always been among the most moving and eloquent documents of the Holocaust. This new edition restores diary entries omitted from the original edition, revealing a new depth to Anne's dreams, irritations, hardships, and passions. Review

"The new edition reveals a new depth to Anne's  dreams, irritations, hardship, and passions . . .  There may be no better way to commemorate the fiftieth  anniversary of the end of World War II than to  rereadThe Diary of a Young Girl,  a testament to an indestructivle nobility of  spirit in the face of pure  evil."--Chicago Tribune

Product Description

The Diary of a Young Girl started two days before Anne Frank's thirteenth birthday. In 1942, the Nazis had occupied Holland, and her family left their home to go into hiding, as they were Jews. Anne Frank recorded daily events, her personal experiences and her feelings in her diary for the next two years. Cut off from the outside world, she and her family faced hunger, boredom, claustrophobia at living in confined quarters, and the ever-present threat of discovery and death. One day, she and her family were betrayed and taken away to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where she eventually died.

It is a record of a sensitive girl's tragic experience during one of the worst periods in human history. This diary is so powerful that it leaves a deep impact on the mind of its readers.

Language Notes

Text: English (translation)
Original Language: Dutch

From the Publisher

For almost fifty years, Anne Frank's diary has moved millions with its testament to the human spirit's indestructibility, but readers have never seen the full text of this beloved book--until now. This new translation, performed by Winona Ryder, restores nearly one third of Anne's entries excised by her father in previous editions, revealing her burgeoning sexuality, her stormy relationship with her mother, and more.

From the Inside Flap

Anne Frank's The Diary of a Young Girl is among the most enduring documents of the twentieth century. Since its publication in 1947, Anne Frank's story has become familiar to millions all over the world, and remains a beloved and deeply admired testament to the indestructible nature of the human spirit.

Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl

The Definitive Edition

Included in this Definitive Edition are diary entries previously omitted from the original, passages which reinforce the fact that Anne was first and foremost a teenage girl, not a remote and flawless symbol. She fretted over her emerging sexuality; often found herself in disagreement with the adults around her; and veered between the carefree nature of a child and the full-fledged sorrow of an adult living under extraordinary conditions and unbearable strain. Anne emerges more triumphantly and heart-breakingly human, more vulnerable, and more vital than ever.

Anne Frank and her family hid in the back of an Amsterdam warehouse for two years in an effort to escape the horrors of Nazi occupation. Only thirteen when her family went into the Secret Annex, she reveals her daily life as the world around them succumbed to the worst horror the modern world had seen, facing hunger, the threat of discovery and death, estrangement from the outside world, and above all, the boredom, the petty misunderstandings, and the frustrations of living in such confined quarters.

A timeless story rediscovered by each new generation, The Diary of a Young Girl stands without peer, and acclaimed actress Winona Ryder brings this unforgettable young woman to life in a stunning performance for listeners of all ages to cherish.

From the Back Cover

There may be no better way to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the end of World War II than to reread The Diary of a Young Girl, a testament to an indestructivle nobility of spirit in the face of pure evil."--Chicago Tribune
